How did you get your start in the design field? After graduating from The Bezalel Academy in 2017, I worked as a freelance graphic designer for a few years. In early 2020, I was put in quarantine after a short visit to Paris, and was playing with illustration options on a new iPad I had just got. I started illustrating for the first time in my life, and made a series of trains on white background that I called “Come On Already”. The title was an expression of the deep urge I had to get out of the house. The series was featured on It's Nice That, after which I was contacted by an illustration agency in New York. 18 months later, this is now my full-time job! I create printed illustrations of things I like drawing (see them here!), as well as do commissioned work for companies and magazines worldwide.
Tell us about some of your inspirations: I am very much inspired by all the illustrations I see - on Instagram, in magazines, on store signs in the street. The illustration world is new to me and I am overwhelmed with how full, vibrant and diverse it is! Mixing that with my film studies. I am most interested in creating illustrated, cinematic “scenes”. A few of my favorite artists for inspiration at the moment are David Hockney, Henri Matisse, Jackson Joyce, Katie Been and Quentin Monge.

What’s your favorite part of the work process? The moment when I’m working on an illustration and I recognize it’s gonna be a good one.
What’s your favorite design item in your own home? My carpet!
Is there a piece or collection that you feel represents you the most? Many of my illustrations have a pool or beach scene in them. I have been a swimmer all my life and swim every day, I love anything to do with water.
What would be your dream project to work on? I'd really like to work on a project with a fashion house!
